May was another fantastic month here at Pink Tree Parties, filled with celebrations, milestone birthdays, weddings, baby showers, corporate events and plenty of personalised balloon creations.

From colourful balloon stacks to elegant event décor, we’ve loved helping our customers celebrate life’s special moments. Here’s a look back at some of our favourite creations from May!

Balloon Stacks Full of Colour and Creativity 🌸

Our Balloon Stacks continued to be incredibly popular throughout May, with a huge variety of themes and colour combinations leaving the shop.

Three of our personal favourites included the K-Pop Demon Hunters Balloon Stack, the beautiful 21st Floral & Butterfly design and the vibrant 5 Is A Vibe display.

Each design was packed with detail, stunning colour combinations and personalised touches, making them some of our standout creations of the month.

Celebrating Local Businesses and Special Occasions 🎉

We were delighted to help several customers and local businesses celebrate important milestones throughout May.

One of our largest installations was a stunning sailboard and large balloon garland display created for a christening that was perfect for those all important photos.

We also had the pleasure of helping The Beauty Co celebrate their 10th birthday with a bespoke balloon garland installation and 10 year display, whilst Thingamajigz celebrated their 21st birthday with a bright and colourful spiral balloon column.

Supporting local businesses and community celebrations is always something we love being part of.

Balloon Bouquets and Personalised Displays 

Alongside our larger event installations, we created a wide range of balloon bouquets and personalised displays for birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions.

Some highlights included our K-Pop Demon Hunters bouquet, the romantic Love Is In The Air wedding display and the debut appearance of our adorable sitting capybara foil balloon, which quickly became a customer favourite.

It’s always exciting introducing new products and seeing customers fall in love with them.

Weddings, Romance and Memorable Moments 💕

May brought several beautiful romantic celebrations.

One of our favourite setups was for a surprise wedding and joint 50th birthday celebration, featuring elegant champagne globe balloons and gold flake aqua balloons illuminated with fairy lights to create a stunning effect.

We also transformed a room at the Grand Hotel in Blackpool for a romantic “Will You Be My Girlfriend?” surprise. The setup included heart balloons, rose petals, a personalised banner and an artificial floral bouquet to create the perfect atmosphere.

Baby Shower Inspiration 🧸

Baby showers remain one of our favourite events to decorate, and May was no exception.

We created a gorgeous baby shower display featuring one of our easels, a simple balloon garland, a topiary balloon and our large hire teddy bear, who looked as though he was holding the balloons himself.

The finished display created the perfect backdrop for photographs and celebrations.

A Little Shop Update 🛍️

There has been plenty happening inside the shop too!

Our brand-new prom collection is now available to pre-order both in-store and online. The range includes a personalised keepsake banner, a personalised heart column, personalised heart and floral bouquet display, and our feathered gumball bubble balloon presented on a gift box. Every design can be customised to suit your chosen colours and style.

With Father’s Day just around the corner, our Father’s Day range is also now available in-store, and we’ve recently updated our window display to showcase some of our latest designs.

Recently, a heartbreaking story has been shared across the UK involving the tragic loss of an 8-year-old child after inhaling helium from a balloon.

As a balloon business, and with our own families, this is something we simply cannot ignore.

While balloons are designed to bring joy, colour and excitement to celebrations, there are important safety messages that every family should be aware of – especially when it comes to helium balloons and the quality of products being used.

This blog isn’t about fear.
It’s about awareness, education and safe celebrations.

The Dangers of Inhaling Helium

For many years, inhaling helium has been treated as a harmless party joke – the “squeaky voice” trend that people often laugh about at birthdays and celebrations.

But the reality is far more serious.

Helium is not poisonous, which is why many people mistakenly believe it is safe to inhale. However, when helium is breathed in, it replaces the oxygen inside the lungs. This can quickly deprive the brain and body of the oxygen needed to function properly.

What makes helium especially dangerous is that there is often no obvious warning.

No choking.
No gasping.
No panic response.

Loss of consciousness can happen within seconds, and in some tragic cases, the consequences can be fatal.

This is why helium should never be inhaled – by adults, teenagers or children.

And while many home-based balloon businesses are incredibly talented and professionally trained, there are also many people entering the industry with little or no knowledge of safe practices.

As we come to the end of April, we wanted to take a moment to look back on what has been a very busy (and very exciting!) month here at Pink Tree Parties.

🐣 Easter Celebrations

We kicked off the month with all things Easter, and what a fantastic start it was!

From chocolate bouquets to chocolate-filled balloons and craft boxes, our Easter range was a huge hit this year. It was so lovely seeing so many of you choosing something a little different for gifts and treats – we absolutely loved creating them all for you.

🎉 Events, Setups & Local Businesses

April has been full of incredible events and collaborations.

One of our biggest highlights was working at the Blackpool Grand Theatre for their brochure launch. This was a large summer holiday-themed setup showcasing all the exciting shows coming up this year – such a brilliant event to be part of!

We were also delighted to return to Booths in Longton for their “Discover the Taste of the Fayre” event. It’s always a pleasure to be invited back and work alongside such a lovely team.

Closer to home, we celebrated the opening of Elvin’s on Kirkham High Street – just across the road from us! It’s a fantastic new addition to the high street, and we can honestly say the food is incredible (we’ve already been a few times!).

We also created a red and white spiral arch for the grand reopening of Matalan in Bamber Bridge following their refurbishment – a great way to mark the occasion.

⚽ Community & Special Moments

We’ve loved being part of so many special community moments this month.

From celebrating St George’s Day with balloons, bunting, and decorations, to creating a big setup for AFC Fylde as they were crowned National League North champions – it’s been such an honour to be involved in these local celebrations.

🎈 Parties, Weddings & Special Occasions

Alongside our larger events, we’ve been busy helping you celebrate your own special moments too.

We decorated The Tap and Vent on Kirkham High Street for Clair & Tony’s wedding – such a beautiful celebration.

We also created a stunning setup at Parkfield Club in Ashton for a 70th birthday, where we introduced more artificial florals into the design. From floral table décor to a large garland around light-up numbers, it was something a little different that we absolutely loved putting together.

It was also great to be back at Milano’s for a 21st birthday celebration!

And of course, throughout the month we’ve continued creating balloon bouquets, birthday stacks, new baby displays, and delivering decorations for all kinds of occasions.

This week, we wanted to do something a little different…

Instead of just showing you the finished photos, we’re taking you behind the scenes of one of our biggest recent setups. Because while the final display might look effortless, there’s actually so much time, planning, and energy that goes into every single creation we make.

We were incredibly grateful to once again be invited to set up for the Grand Theatre’s VIP brochure launch in Blackpool. The theme was summer holiday, and it was such an honour to help bring their vision to life.

Here’s a little look at what really goes on behind the scenes…

✨ The Planning Stage

Every display starts long before a single balloon is inflated.

With a large setup like this one we begin by meeting with the client, walking through the venue, and going through every detail of their vision. From colours and themes to placement and scale, everything is carefully discussed and noted.

From there, we:

• Map out the designs
• Plan how each display will be created
• Estimate timings and materials
• Put together a quote

Once everything is confirmed (and sometimes tweaked a few times!), we move onto ordering — which is a whole task in itself. We carefully estimate quantities, always ordering extra for flexibility, unexpected changes, and to ensure we still have stock available for our shop and other customers.

🎈 The Prep & Creation

Before installation even begins, there are hours of prep behind the scenes.

For this setup, we had:

• Late nights preparing displays
• Multiple team members working on different elements
• A tight turnaround due to the bank holiday

We always aim to build as much as possible in the shop beforehand, so when we arrive on-site, it’s about installing — not starting from scratch. But even then, there’s always a lot to do!

From arches to globes, garlands to detailed add-ons, every piece is carefully made with precision and intention.

🚚 Installation Days

This setup took place across two days — and no two installs are ever the same!

Day 1:

• Installing the large suspended “sky” display (our biggest challenge!)
• Positioning bar displays and initial elements
• Working as a team to ensure everything sat perfectly and securely

Day 2:

• Completing all remaining displays
• Adjusting anything that had moved overnight
• Installing helium elements, arches, and final details
• Working against time to meet the event deadline

There’s a lot of problem-solving in real time — from working with tricky spaces to adapting when plans change (like delayed props or weather conditions!).

💭 Why It’s Not “Just Balloons”

One of the biggest things we want to share is this:

It’s not just about inflating balloons.

Every display involves:

• Careful design and structure
• Time-consuming installation
• Adjustments to make everything look seamless
• Ensuring stability, safety, and durability

We also have to think ahead constantly — what if something doesn’t go to plan? We always have backup options, extra stock, and solutions ready.

Even something as simple as weather can double the time it takes to complete a setup — but no matter what, we always make it work.

💗 What This Means to Us

At the end of it all, what matters most is how it makes people feel.

Seeing everything come together, stepping back after a long few days, and knowing we’ve created something memorable — that’s why we do what we do.

We pour our time, energy, and creativity into every single setup, whether it’s big or small. And we hope this gives you a little insight into the work that goes into making each display as special as it is.
