How are we all doing? We hope you’ve been enjoying the gorgeous weather we’ve had recently and making the most of the sunshine. Although, looking at the forecast, it looks like the weather may be taking a little turn next week… so enjoy it while it lasts! ☀️

Did anyone manage to catch the partial solar eclipse on Wednesday 12th August? 🌙☀️

I certainly did! I headed down to the beach with my makeshift cereal-box eclipse viewer, which I have to admit, I wasn’t convinced was actually going to work! 😂

Surprisingly… it did! And I was rather impressed with myself. Sometimes you just have to work with what you’ve got!

🎈 Balloon Care: A Little Tip From Us

Want to make the most out of your balloons? Here’s something you might not know!

Temperature can have quite an effect on helium-filled balloons.

In warm temperatures, helium expands. As the helium expands, it puts more pressure on the balloon and causes it to stretch. If it gets too hot, the balloon can only stretch so far before it may eventually pop.

In cooler temperatures, helium contracts. This can make your balloon look softer, smaller or even slightly deflated. Don’t panic though! Once the balloon returns to a warmer temperature, the helium will expand again and the balloon should return to its usual size.

So, if your balloons suddenly look a little different after being taken outside in the cold, don’t worry — give them time to adjust to the temperature before assuming there’s a problem!

And during warmer summer days, try to keep helium balloons out of direct sunlight and away from excessive heat to help them last as long as possible. 💗🎈

♻️ Did You Know? We Recycle Our Balloon Waste

We don’t simply throw all of our balloon waste into the bin!

Where possible, our foil balloon waste is collected through our TerraCycle recycling programme, helping to divert suitable waste away from general landfill and towards specialist recycling.

And did you know that latex balloons are made from natural rubber harvested from rubber trees?

We always encourage balloons to be disposed of responsibly and never released outdoors, but it’s always nice to know a little more about the materials we work with every day. 🌱

It’s just one of the little things we do behind the scenes that you might not necessarily see.

🎈 Behind Pink Tree: Did You Know Paula Is a Balloon Trainer?

You might know Paula as one of the owners of Pink Tree Parties, but did you know she also works as a professional balloon trainer?

Pink Tree Parties has been providing balloon training since 2017, helping hundreds of students develop their balloon businesses and skills.

Paula is an Approved Instructor for NABAS (National Association of Balloon Artists & Suppliers) and also a UK Brand Ambassador for Grabo Balloons, keeping her right at the heart of the professional balloon industry.

Training takes place from our fully equipped training room above the Pink Tree Parties shop, with group courses, one-to-one training and bespoke classes available. Paula also travels throughout the UK and Europe to deliver training and has taught at major industry events.

From balloon basics and business courses to organic designs, air-filled centrepieces, Aqua Balloons and specialist techniques, there’s a whole range of training available.

And if face-to-face training isn’t for you, there’s also the Balloon Academy — our online training platform, allowing you to learn at your own pace from the comfort of your own home.

👀 A Little Look Behind the Scenes

What actually happens before your balloons leave Pink Tree?

It isn’t quite as simple as ordering a balloon and us having it ready five minutes later! 😂

First comes the enquiry, then the designing, choosing colours, checking stock and going through all the different options available.

And sometimes there are A LOT of options! 😆

Once everything is decided, we pick and bag all the materials needed for your order, making sure we have everything ready. If we don’t, we’ll get it ordered in.

Then comes the fun part… creating your balloons!

Finally, everything gets checked, finished, packaged up and handed over or prepared for delivery.

There’s actually a lot that goes on behind the scenes before your finished display ever reaches you!

🎓 GCSE Results Day Is Nearly Here!

GCSE Results Day is this Thursday!

Whether you’re celebrating fantastic results, supporting someone who has worked incredibly hard, or simply want to show them how proud you are, we’ve got plenty of options to help make the day extra special.

🍂 Is It Too Early To Mention Autumn?

Okay… I know I said I wouldn’t be changing the shop window to autumn just yet…

And I have kept my promise! 😉

The window is still firmly in summer mode.

I can’t say the same for my house though… 😂

Let’s just say the pumpkins, acorns and pine cones have already made an appearance and my home is officially giving FULL autumn vibes. 🍂🎃

But while I’m resisting the urge to transform the shop window just yet, we are starting to think about our autumn and Halloween designs and displays.

We’ve got some lovely new balloons coming that we’re really looking forward to showing you, and I’ve also been brainstorming the idea of some Pink Tree-style Boo Boxes / Boo Gifts for Halloween.

It’s still very much in the brainstorming stage at the moment, but you may see a little mock-up appearing soon if I decide to go ahead with the idea! 👀🎃

🛍️ A Little Shop Update

There’s been a little reshuffle in the shop recently, and we’ve added a few new sections to make choosing your balloons even easier!

Our Birthday Super Shape balloons are now proudly on display rather than hiding away at the side, so you can actually see all the options available and choose your favourite.

We’ve also made our air-filled table and floor-standing balloons, balloon bundles and air walkers much easier to browse.

Our balloon bundles are particularly handy — themed balloons that work beautifully together, so you can simply pick your favourite bundle, and we’ll inflate and style everything onto one weight for you.

And there’s more new stock on the way too! We’re placing another order over the next week or two, with some exciting new bits and pieces coming in.

💗 From Us To You

It’s been another busy week here at Pink Tree Parties, and Saturday in particular was a bit of a whirlwind!

We were in and out of the shop with deliveries for all sorts of celebrations, including an engagement party, an 80th birthday and a 21st birthday, alongside a handful of collections from the shop for completely different displays.

It’s always lovely seeing the variety of celebrations that come through our doors.

We thought it was about time our blogs had a little refresh, and whilst balloons will always be at the heart of what we do, we’d love to share a little more of life here at Pink Tree Parties too.

I’m Danni, the voice behind our weekly newsletters, blogs and the majority of our social media. Every week I love sharing our latest creations, ideas and everything that’s been happening both in and around the shop.

I’m not going to lie… I’m already excited!

Autumn has always been my favourite time of year. I absolutely love working with burnt oranges, sage greens, deep reds and all those gorgeous warm autumn shades that start appearing this time of year.

The shop window isn’t changing just yet—I promise!—but behind the scenes we’re already planning some beautiful autumn displays that I can’t wait to share with you.

June has been one of our busiest and most exciting months of the year so far, and what a month it’s been!

From school proms and elegant weddings to magical themed parties, baby showers and unforgettable proposals, we’ve had the pleasure of helping our customers celebrate some truly special occasions.

Prom Season Was in Full Swing

June meant one thing… prom season!

Our team had an incredible few weeks creating balloon displays for schools, venues and proud families across Lancashire. From stylish entrance displays and organic garlands to personalised balloons and statement photo backdrops, every setup was designed to make each prom feel extra special.

We love seeing students celebrate such an important milestone, and it’s always a privilege to play a small part in making those evenings memorable.

A Magical Alice in Wonderland Celebration

One of our favourite themed displays this month was a beautiful Alice in Wonderland setup.

Using shades of pink and rose gold balloons with plenty of quirky Alice in Wonderland cut-outs, we created a display full of charm and character. Every little detail came together to transform this home into a magical setting that perfectly suited the theme.

Creative themed displays like this are always so much fun to bring to life, and we love seeing our customers’ ideas become reality.

Baby Showers & Birthday Celebrations

June was also filled with plenty of beautiful baby showers and birthday celebrations.

Our personalised sailboards and elegant easel displays continued to be favourites, creating stylish focal points and the perfect backdrop for photographs. Weddings & Special Moments

We also had the pleasure of creating a stunning wedding display featuring vibrant yellows and luxurious golds, proving that balloons can add just as much elegance to weddings as they do to any other celebration.

Another unforgettable highlight was helping create a surprise proposal at a beautiful cabin. Romantic red heart balloons, rose petals and one of our personalised Pop Me balloons all came together to create the perfect setting. Hidden inside the balloon was the all-important message…

“Will you marry me?”
