For those wanting an unusual fancy dress party there's the Alphabet/Letter party theme. It works in several ways - either everyone goes in a costume which has the host's initials or as a letter from the host's first name, or as their own first initial...sound complicated? It really isn't! Read on....

Say the host is Tracy Smith - her party could be that everyone has to dress up in a "T" costume (for Tracy) or either a "T" or an "S" costume (for Tracy Smith) or she could spread the net a little wider to cover her full first name so you could dress in a "T", "R", "A", "C" or "Y" costume.

Simple, hey?!

The other variation is you go as your own initial - Tracy invites two guests Paul and Sue - Paul has to go as something beginning with "P" and Sue has to wear a costume beginning with "S" - it leads to interesting conversation amongst guests trying to work out characters and the guests actual names!

It's great fun and very quirky and helps to eliminate duplicate costumes as you don't end up with lots of the same Superhero or Disney character!
